Hello, Hoppers! We hope you’re doing well and are staying safe!

We’re excited to give you LOTS of cool updates about what has been going on in the background since our last post. Today we’ll cover a broad range of things ranging from website development, art, tokenomics, and community management.

As we get closer to the release of Hoppers, it’s a lot of fun to see some of the ideas we had several weeks ago come to life. Conceptualizing ideas can be as rewarding as they are challenging. There are always bumps along the road when putting the puzzle together, and we could not be more grateful to be surrounded by a bunch of fun gigabrains who know how to use a solid GIF to lighten the mood and poke fun at each other.

Who are these curious clever chads working to make it all happen? We’ll introduce the team as we update you on each part of the project!

Project Progress and Who’s Behind It:

Since the release of the domain, you have had the good fortune to take in the illustrative power of Hoppers’ artist, Yellowbrah, with his landing page masterpiece being used as a veil to cover the construction going on in the background. You met Yellowbrah last week during our Twitter Spaces where you learned he is much better at drawing Hoppers than using bluetooth devices. 😜

The “Great Lake” section of the Adventures Map Illustrated by YelloBrah

Building off of the landing page art piece, Yellowbrah has been working closely with our front-end developers Bojangly, Webcotton, and UX designer Ranom, to illustrate the creative assets.

Webcotton was the original front end developer for Avalanche Party Animals. Not only did he take on the task of coding the front end, but played a heavy role in the design, too. He did a fantastic job since his core skill set is in coding and not design. APAs’ website has long been appreciated for its minimalistic and intuitive design.

Because Hoppers is a much more dynamic project, we’ve aligned with a UX/UI professional to take the lead on the design. Ranom is a friend of a Crew member and word has it, he’s a bit of a local legend in UX/UI. Ranom has helped us make large leaps of progress in a short amount of time. Seeing how much he’s contributed in such a short time, we can imagine he’s got a great real world reputation.

If you’ve ever hung around our sister project APA’s Discord, you surely know Bojangly. With a Rank level that far outpaces the #2 spot, he seemingly never sleeps. When Bojangly isn’t working as a software engineer in the fiat world, he is as engaged with the APA community as he is contributing on Hoppers’ game theory, tokenomics, and developing the front end of Hoppers’ website. A true Jack of all Trades!

Speaking of APA discord, one of the moderators, Zhest, has turned out to be a huge contributor to the game theory and tokenomics development. Zhest is a systems engineer by trade and has been helping a few projects work on their tokenomics as a hobby over the last year. We asked for his feedback during the early brainstorming days and he’s been advising ever since.

The team is stacked with even more engineers, some of which are so OG crypto they were interacting directly with the smart contracts to farm tokens years before the beautiful UX you find today. Joshie and Partychad would fit that bill best.

Cofounders of APA, they balance each other out very well. Partychad functions as the visionary, creative and project lead; he’s constantly engaged with each project to articulate the vision and push for progress. He is a co creator at heart and loves thinking and decision making as a group. He manages all the irons in the pot and keeps things moving forward.

Joshie is a solidity developer 🐐 with years of software development experience; he created APAs’ -and now crafting Hoppers’- contract. Joshie is equally creative and, like Partychad, a lover of games and theory.

The duo work incredibly well together where PartyChad can get a group of people together to conceptualise ideas and Joshie can translate it to function on the blockchain.

The Party Mansion crew is ambitious, we’ll need more Solidity developers for future projects, and to be able to learn from the likes of Joshie is a great opportunity. Joshie is also mentoring fellow co-founder of APA, Kontrol, to help fine-tune his Solidity skills. Kontrol has deep roots and experience in the Avalanche ecosystem. When he’s not helping on Hoppers’ Solidity development, game theory and tokenomics, he’s helping make progress on APAs roadmap and maintain relationships with our partners around Avalanche.

There are a few more team members, but we’ll get to them in later articles.

Game Mechanics:

There are a lot of engineering cooks in this kitchen and they create some amazing recipes together! As we get closer to dropping the white paper which will have the maths and simulations attached, we can take a moment to give you a bit more insight into Hoppers Game’s experience.

A quick refresh from the last article about the game:

- 10k beautifully illustrated Hoppers created by Yellobrah
- Each Hopper has 5 Attributes: Strength, Intelligence, Vitality, Agility, and Fertility.
- Every Hopper starts at Level 1 and must use $Fly to Level-Up
- There are 7 “Adventures” divided up into 4 Challenges where you can stake your Hopper in to earn $Fly. Access to Adventures & Challenges that yield more $Fly require stronger Attributes and higher Level Hoppers.

GameFlow

When you mint a Hopper, it’s like rolling the dice. Hoppers are assigned a range from 1 to 10 of stats for each of their 5 Attributes. Each Attribute receives a stat ranging from 1 to 10. 1 being the weakest, and 10 the strongest. The stats are stored on-chain and can not be changed, ever!

Since your Hoppers are at Level 1, they will only have access to Tier 1 Challenges which have 3 Adventures: Pond, Stream, and Swamp. To gain access to Tier 2 Challenges, you need to Level Up to a minimum of 10! $FLY is used to Level-Up and is earned from staking in Tier 1 Challenges, or you can buy $FLY.

Regardless, every time you Level-Up your hopper, $FLY is burned to keep the price in check. There are a few more burning mechanisms, we’ll flow into them as the journey continues. Logically, the cost of Levelling-Up will require more $FLY, as your Hoppers’ are yielding more $FLY on Adventures.

4 Big Innovative Concepts We’re Introducing to GameFi:

MAX Earning per Level | Gaming Staking | Prestiging | Adventure-Based Breeding

MAX Earning per Level:
To combat Hoppers from getting lazy and just sitting and printing $FLY at any Level, they have to Level Up to get bigger bellies!

Any $FLY you yield after hitting your MAX earnings is 🔥 burned! It’s simple: You can only earn up to 3 times (3x) the cost required to Level-Up, next.

Example. If you’re on Level 1, and the cost to Level-Up to 2 requires 10 $FLY, you can only yield a MAX of 30 $FLY from Adventures while on Level 1. If you leave your Hoppers on Adventures without Levelling-Up, any additional $FLY earned is burned.

So, you’re on Adventures harvesting $FLY knowing you can earn MAX 3x the cost of Levelling-Up. What to do with your leftover $FLY 🤷‍♂️ Stake it of course!

Gaming Staking: Introducing $veFLY
Lots of idle games allow you to stake the native token to earn rewards, but we haven’t seen any that challenge you to strategically place your yield bearing assets.

How it works:
Stake $FLY to get $veFLY

$veFly is the voting escrow $fly and works like vePTP and veCRV. You can use it to get a piece from the daily bonus emissions. Expect to see a $fly war .

Each Adventure will be given access to the Bonus Emission. The Adventures with the most Votes will receive a larger portion of the daily Bonus Emission.

Holders of $veFLY will choose the Adventures they want to Vote for the Bonus Emission: $veFLY 💰

The more $veFLY you used to Vote for an Adventure’s Bonus Emission, compared to other $veFLY voters in the same Adventure, the larger portion of that Adventure’s Bonus Emission you will receive!

$FLY earned from the Bonus Emission counts toward your Level’s MAX Yield to prevent squatting. But, it does help you Level-Up faster!

Prestiging:
When you get to Level 100, you can choose to stay there, or be reborn back to Level 1 where you will get a spiffy badge, and +1 stat for all 5 of your Attributes! A truly “infinite” game!

Adventure-Based Breeding:

This is not your typical “Get two NFTs together and make a new NFT” concept. Hoppers with higher Fertility stats will have better luck on the Breeding Adventure than those Hoppers with lower stats. You’ll have to stake your Hopper for 24 hours, and burn $FLY to “roll the dice” to see if your Hopper comes back with a Tadpole NFT. Tadpoles will have 5 different rarity levels and you will be able to exchange Tadpoles at a future date for Gen1 Hoppers.

Gaming breeding using on-chain Attribute stats is a unique spin on new generation NFT creation we’re excited to explore for phase II of Hoppers.

To recap:

  • To prevent squatting and enforce burning, you are capped on how much $FLY you can earn at each level.
  • You can earn more $FLY from Bonus Emissions by voting on Adventure’s access to the daily Bonus Emission using the $veFLY you get from staking $FLY.
  • Hoppers with Higher Levels will earn a larger portion of the Adventures’ daily $FLY emissions.
  • The more votes you cast using $veFLY in Adventures, the larger portion of the corresponding Adventure’s Bonus Emission you will claim.
  • Level up forever by Rebirthing after level 100 to restart the game with stronger Attribute stats.
  • Breeding is not related to matching NFTs, but rather the strength of the Fertility stats you “roll” when minting Hoppers and playing the Breeding Adventure.

Again, the White Paper will have all the maths for you gigabrains who want to crunch numbers.

Of course, you can expect a beautiful native marketplace where you will be able to trade Hoppers (and tadpoles 😉) with an easy to navigate UX, just like at APA.

Things are subject to change during the development process.

White List & $FLY Airdrops for APA Holders:

The Party Mansion Crew is committed to continue supporting our gen 1 project: Avalanche Party Animals. Tomorrow marks 3 months since we minted out 10,000 NFTs in <5 hours, and since then we have built a massive treasury to be allocated to APA Holders with additional benefits:

  • $100,000 USD was used to buy $JOE, staked for $xJOE, and is being farmed at ~19% APY, to be distributed in November, 2022.
  • 180,000 PTP tokens (linear vested starting in December 2022, current value: $685,000 USD)
  • Countless WL spots and Free Mints from strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  • Monthly Drinking Parties where 16 $AVAX will be given away during our Discord event. And other activities like free Stretch and Breath with Sema, a paid professional yoga teacher.
  • A very active “Alpha Chat” section of Discord with over 20 channels for focused exchanges ranging from new NFT projects to the cutest cat gifs you’ve ever seen, moderated by smart and compassionate contributors who know how to have fun and love to help people out.

Since we announced Hoppers Game will exclusively have White List spots for APA holders, we have noticed some wallets transferring APAs to empty wallets in the hopes they can game the system and get more wallets of theirs a White List spot. This means a bit more work for us, but we will invest the time and energy to confront the challenge!

A snapshot was taken of all wallets holding APAs the day we announced Hoppers’ which was Jan 18, 2021 at 23:59 UTC. If you bought an APA between Jan 19 at 00:00 UTC and Feb 12 at 19:00 UTC, you must send Cryptφnacci (contact info below) the link to your snowtrace transaction and he will manually enter your wallet address in the White List.

1 wallet = 1 White List. Only 1 person should get 1 White List entry. We’re sorry for any inconvenience, this comes at a great cost of time and energy for us as it does you. But, it’s the only way we can combat gamers.

Cryptφnacci will investigate each transaction thoroughly and cross reference transactions to see if there is suspicious activity of APAs being sent to different wallets from there in order to make sure people are not unfairly getting more access to White Lists then they should.

Please, be sure to help us in getting the word out:
If you bought an APA between Jan 19 at 00:00 UTC and Feb 12 at 19:00 UTC, you must send Cryptφnacci (contact info below) the link to your snowtrace transaction. If your transaction happened After Feb 12 at 7PM UTC, you will not be added to the White List.

$FLY Airdrops Incoming!
To make it easier for us and the community, APA Holders will not get “Airdropped” $FLY, but they will be able to “Claim” $FLY on the “My APAs” section of partyanimals.xyz. There will be between 1,000,000 $FLY allocated to APA holders. It will be linear vested for 12 months. The 1st batch will be made claimable the first couple days Hoppers Game goes live.

Allocation of $FLY will be respective to the rarity of each APA. The rarer the APA, the more $FLY they will be allocated. The exact math on this will be part of the White Paper.

That’s it for now folks. We’re going to keep innovating, building, and managing a wonderful Party Mansion community.

Thanks for your patience and support! Feel free to share your feedback, and keep making time for YOU to disconnect, walk, and breath!

With Love-
Cryptφnacci & the Hoppers’ Team!
